Somatic Movement Facilitator

Private Sessions

The only constant we experience in life is change. Major life changes can be traumatic. With change there is often resistance along with pain and confusion.  We are challenged to adapt and accept new experiences whilst at the same time facing loss and feeling disconnected.

Making transitions can be eased with one to one support, giving time to feel safe whilst learning to adapt with a brave heart to new situations in life, body and mind.

Private One to One Yoga Horsham

Practitioner Kathryn Varley

I offer a whole person unhurried and integrative approach to accessing trauma. This combines the effect of its impact on both physical as well as mental posturing. The session time is personal, it's client driven.  Some may combine listening with somatic movement for trauma release, iRest for to support on-going recovery or yoga therapy for deep relaxation. The approach is multi-disciplinary, body oriented and is entirely dependent upon the needs of the individual client.

When the mind is stressed, the body suffers.  Initially, it may be a few aches, pains, stiffness in the joints or stress headaches. Or it may be pain that is difficult to ignore, sometimes mood altering, emotionally draining, restrictive to physical movement and mental clarity. Need to talk?

I am here to listen. Please fill in the form below and try free 30 min no obligation consultation. I look forward to hearing from you.

Body

The body is challenged when the mind has a problem.

Stress from the mind causes stress in the nervous system which causes tension and pain in the body.  Enquiring into small movement patterns helps the body relax and the mind to take a more flexible perspective

Mind

To be seen and heard and most importantly, to hear our self, can be difficult when we get stuck on a  treadmill of old thoughts, stories and emotions. And when emotions feel too difficult to re-visit, an approach of body oriented psychotherapy, from a posture of relaxation may be helpful.

One to One

Take time for yourself.  Talk in confidence about your needs, concerns and feelings. Share whatever it may be that brings you here today and what may be holding you back or affecting your confidence and quality of life.

One to One for opening to new possibilities

Surgery

Following surgery, I was left in pain with neurological challenges and restricted movement.
After two sessions, for the first time,
I  felt primary reflexes in my spine and head.  I gained understanding of change and its boundless gifts. Truly uplifting.

Bodymind

Kathryn is helping me stretch my mind as well as my body!

I adjusted my car driving seat and office chair to properly support my posture.
I am much more mindful now of how I walk and move my body
to pick things up off the floor.
It's improved my mobility and my life.
Rachel

Pain

I  suffered with a bad back

and achey joints for years.

I had  no idea  how a balanced posture may feel or function or

that body alignment is a thing.

In one session, my mind was calm, and home maintenance

became reality.
